Water has always been my happy place. Lake, ocean, pool-as long as there is water, I’m happy. I started swim lessons when I was 9 months old and just never stopped. I started competitive swimming in 3rd grade and continued through high school. After high school, I had the opportunity to join the University of South Carolina swim team and I will forever be a Gamecock! I took a hiatus from swimming after college to work on my masters degree, marry my best friend, and find other fitness activities.
I decided to jump back into swimming for fun when I was in a new city and looking for opportunities to meet new people. I never would’ve thought that I’d love masters swimming as much as I do! I love the swim family feeling and being able to swim with people in all different phases of life.
Swimming has given me so much in life other than fitness, and I can’t wait to see how it continues to shape me.
When I’m not at the pool, I’m with my husband and my daughter, Leah. We love spending time with family, exploring the Lowcountry, traveling, and just being by water.
