A Record Breaking Spring for SC Swimmers!
Our LMSC had a record breaking spring – literally! South Carolina swimmers traveled to Florida for the YMCA Masters Nationals and Indiana for the USMS Spring Nationals.
Here are a few highlights from the 2017-2018 Spring SCY Season:
- Palmetto Masters Swim Team placed 7th in the Local Club Division at USMS Nationals
- Greenville Splash placed 7th at the YMCA Masters Nationals
- Molly Willingham broke 3 YMCA Masters National records (50, 100 & 200 backstroke) in the women’s 25-29 age group
- Dana Brown broke 2 USMS National records (50 & 100 breaststroke) in the women’s 70-74 age group. Dana also broke the Dixie Zone record for the 200 breaststroke
- Sumter Swordfish (Donahue, C. Iovanovich, Chan, I. Iovanovich) broke the Dixie Zone record for the 25+ 200 Mixed Medley Relay
- There were more than 50 South Carolina state records were broken (Women’s – 36; Men’s 11; Relays – 5)
